Back by popular demand after the immense success of the inaugural Christmas Food and Drink Festival at Glengoyne Distillery last year, Glengoyne and friends are preparing for an even bigger event this winter at local farm and shop, Edenmill. Packed with a host of exhibitors offering even more top quality food and drink, entertaining cookery demonstrations, unusual gift ideas and a lot of merriment, there will be something for all the family.

Taking place on Saturday, 28th November 2009 from 10.00am to 5.00pm, the fun is moving down the road to picturesque Edenmill Farm, the ‘Real Farm Shop of the Area’. Stalls will be promoting a wide range of fresh produce to try and buy, from some of Scotland’s best known food and drink suppliers including Glengoyne, Loch Fyne Oysters, WEST Beer and Edenmill meats and smokery.

With a range of craft and gift ideas, not to mention the ideal opportunity to pick up the Christmas tree, there will be plenty to entertain all ages. Along with tutored beer and whisky tastings, adults can enjoy cookery demonstrations from BBC’s Great British Menu contestant and chef, Tom Lewis of Monachyle Mhor, joined this year by Glasgow’s Ian Brown of the multi-award winning Ubiquitous Chip and Neil Clark from La Vallee Blanche.

The ‘Garden of Consumption’, complete with the inflatable Glengoyne Pub serving warming drams and local beer, will be packed with morish delights including fresh oysters and salmon from Loch Fyne Oysters, hearty smoking barrels and barbequed meats from Edenmill and a whole range of produce from Tom Lewis and the team from MHOR Bread and MHOR Fish.

For the children, there will be a cooking competition, judged by Tom Lewis, baby farm animals to feed, carol singing, angel hunts, a straw play area with bouncy castle and inflatable gladiator game and of course, Santa’s Grotto, complete with real reindeers.

Stuart Hendry, Brand and Development Manager for Glengoyne commented: “Over 5,000 visitors joined us at Glengoyne Distillery for the Christmas Festival, something we hope to repeat again this year at Edenmill. The day really does showcase some of the best local and independent producers Scotland has to offer, giving visitors the chance to sample and buy the excellent food and drink products available on their doorstep. It really is a celebration of the ‘Real Taste of Malt’ partnered with the ‘Real Taste of Food.”

Edenmill Farm is situated just 30 minutes outside Glasgow, set in the breath-taking Trossachs. Entrance cost is £2 for adults and free for children under 16. For directions, visit www.edenmillfarm.co.uk
