Scottish Whisky priced over £5,000 available to buy online
Planet Whiskies has created this page so users of the website can view whiskies on sale over £5,000 all on the same page. At over £5,000 a bottleof whisky must be rare and/or produced from a special period of time. In my eyes it is a collectors' item that I would never open, but it all depends on the background you are from. Everyone has different reasons as to why they would buy a whisky at over £5,000, but the thing is people do buy at this price and this can push up the prices even more.
When you start looking at whisky at the prices shown below you tend to think "Is this a collectors' items or one for use at a special time?" The answer to that question is one that only you can answer.
Unopened you could find these bottles going up in value, but it all depends on how rare the whisky is, does the distillery still produce whisky and still open, but the answer to most is all about supply and demand and very hard to tell.
People do collect whisky and keep it as an investment, but also there are special occasions where you really do want to celebrate with an expensive dram.

Lets hear from master blender, Michael Henry, on the impact these unique stills (LL is the only distillery in Scotland to use straight neck pot stills) and long maturation had on the whisky. Our stills are synonymous with the fruity notes they give to the whisky and with the 50 Year Old, it has been granted the time to truly concentrate that character, resulting in a rich, tropical fruit flavour.
